#10: Thor The Mighty Avenger Minimates - Agent Coulson and Frost Giant
There is a Marvel Legends version of Agent Coulson coming soon, and pictures of it from presumably illicit sources have started showing up on Ebay auctions. I'm definitely going to be getting that set, but when I saw the auction pictures, it made me remember that there's already a non-Hot Toys action figure of Coulson, in the form of a Minimates set from the first Thor movie. So I just ended up buying that from Ebay. The Frost Giant isn't al that exciting. In fact, it's hampered by all the add on pieces, which ultimately restrict the articulation and ensure that the head pops off very easily. It doesn't get any accessories. Minimate facial likenesses aren't always very reflective of the actors they are based on, and Clark Gregg isn't really evoked by this toy's face. But I know it's him, so that's good enough. He has a bullhorn and a pistol for accessories.

#9: S.H. Figuarts - Luigi
I got the Figuarts Mario last year. So of course, I had to get the Luigi to go with him. Basically, he's the same as Mario. New sculpt and all that, but he's engineered in the same way. Luigi's accessories are a little different. Fortunately, Luigi includes a base and stand, so that he can be posed in mid-jump.
There is also an extra pair of hands and a shell that he can hold. I forgot to include it in the pictures, but there is a brick block as well. There's a concurrent release of an accessory pack which includes a red pipe with piranha plant, and a buzzy beetle. That's actually somewhat tempting. At least there aren't two accessory packs like when the Mario figure came out.
There's a Yoshi coming out, but I've never really felt a need for a Yoshi figure. On the other hand, Mario or Luigi will be able to pose riding on Yoshi's back...

#8: The LEGO Movie - Double-Decker Couch (70818)
I'm kind of surprised that the double-decker couch wasn't released as one of the first LEGO Movie sets. Maybe they thought it wasn't something people would want to buy, or maybe they were just holding it back for later release on purpose. It's just such a ridiculous (yet genius) idea, and fairly important to the plot of the movie, so I planned to get it as soon as I heard about its upcoming release. Presumably to up the piece count of this set, Emmet's car is also included. It's the same one he's shown driving to work in the movie, and there's even the little radio brick inside. The car also has a small storage area in the rear, which is intended to hold his hardhat. The couch is a pretty easy build, with a lot of smaller bricks. Unfortunately, no, the couch cushions don't lift up, revealing ample storage space beneath. Unless you use your imagination, of course. One of the best things about this set is that it includes five minifigures. This is a set that sells for twelve dollars or so, which means it's a great value based on the minifigures alone. There's Emmet, Unikitty, Ghost Vitruvius, President Business, and Benny. This is actually my third Emmet and Unikitty (at least this version is sitting, and has two facial expressions included), but the others are all new to me. I'm particularly glad to get Benny, who is such a fun character. This is a set that's definitely worth picking up.

#7: The LEGO Movie - Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack (70817)
Ever since LEGO started making DC super hero playsets, I've been wanting to get a Batman. I got one from a set with Catwoman, but it was a Batman with wings and no cape. All the "standard" looking Batman minifigures have been in sets that I'm too cheap to get, and that trend continued with the LEGO Movie sets. Fortunately there are still sets coming out almost a year after the movie was released, one of which includes regular Batman. Buying this set was a no brainer. Batman is armed with a batarang and a grapnel gun. Also included in the set is the super angry version of Unikitty, a skeleton robot, and one of the micro managers. Unikitty is cool, and it's a different version of her than the one I already have, so I'm glad to add it. The skeleton robot is basically a Terminator, and he includes a gun. Its proportions seem weird, and I think it's that the arms are too long or the legs are too short. The micro manager provides most of the building for the set. It even has a couple action features, with flick launch missiles, and a lever that makes the top of the manager explode off. This set sells for about ten dollars, which is a pretty great deal considering how much the individual minifigures sell for.

#6: LEGO Minifigures Series 13 - Hot Dog Man
This is possibly the most ridiculous minifigure that's been released in the blind packed line. A man in a hot dog costume. How could I not get one? His costume is his only accessory, if it can even be called an accessory. Finding him is really easy because the hot dog piece is so large and distinctive.
Here's the bump code for the hot dog man, with the code 338B4 stamped into the packaging.

#5: LEGO Minifigures Series 13 - Fencer
Back in college, I took a couple semesters of a fencing course, which was loads of fun. So naturally I wanted to get the fencer minifigure. The fencer is a pretty simple figure, his only accessories are the fencing mask and an epee. I found this one by feeling for the epee, which has the distinctive button on the tip.
Here's the bump code for the fencer, featuring the code 238B4 stamped onto the packaging.

#4: LEGO Minifigures Series 13 - Unicorn Girl
For series 13, the Unicorn Girl is the minifigure of the sub-theme of people in animal costumes, which I am a fan of. I found her by feeling for the horn, which is a separate piece from the head.
Here's the bump code for Unicorn Girl, with the code 238B4 stamped into the packaging.

#3: LEGO Minfigures Series 13 - King
Along with the new year, the latest wave of LEGO minifigures has arrived. I mainly wanted the king because he looks pretty cool, and is somewhat reminiscent of the Burger King mascot from the weird ads of a couple years ago. He's got a two piece cape which is a neat touch. I found him by feeling for the sword, which stands out by virtue of having a crossguard.
Here's the king's bump code, with 338B4 stamped into the package.

#2: Attack On Titan Figma - Mikasa Ackerman
After seeing all the memes and references online, I finally got around to watching Attack On Titan a couple months ago. I really liked it, so of course I looked into what the action figure options were. There is a pretty great Nendoroid set of the colossal titan and wall, but as far as more traditional figures, Figma was more along the lines of what I was looking for. Of the characters available, Mikasa is my favorite (if a Sasha Blouse figure were available, I'd probably have bought that one).
This is Figma, so there are a ridiculous amount of accessories. Of course there is a variety of hands, and three different facial expressions. There are a couple wardrobe options as well, including Mikasa's scarf (and collar for when the scarf isn't there) and a cloak which billows out behind her. Of course, the vertical maneuvering equipment is included. The vertical maneuvering equipment has its own attendant accessories, such as two swords, puffs of air for maneuvering, a couple of grappling lines in mid-launch, and some grappling lines with extra long hooked string. There is also a stand included.

#1: S.H. Figuarts - Sailor Mercury
Aaaaand we're back for a new year of toys, which means we're starting the numbering back at one. So the first toy of the new year is my second Sailor Moon Figuarts figure, Sailor Mercury. I basically decided I'm going to be buying all of them, and I'm trying to go in order of the character's introductions. Below the neck, she's basically the same figure as Sailor moon (her boots are different). Similarly, she includes a few different sets of hands and a few different facial expressions that can be swapped out, as well as a stand. For accessories, she has both an opened and closed version of her
Looks like Mars is next!
