#32: Marvel Legends Civil War - Falcon

Falcon was really cool when he showed up in The Winter Soldier, so I was disappointed that Hasbro didn't make a Marvel Legends version of him. So when he showed up with a more comic inspired color scheme for Civil War, I was pretty glad that Hasbro was finally making him. I was less thrilled that he would be a Wal-Mart exclusive. Although I've never seen one at a Wal-Mart in person (except the one I saw which had been swapped out for a Vision figure and returned), I was finally able to get one from Amazon for retail price, plus shipping. Overall, it's a cool figure, with suitably big wings. They aren't articulated, but they plug into his backpack in a way that keeps them removable. There is a folded up Redwing drone that plugs into his backpack as well, and another version that is unfolded for flight mode. With the wings, it's not surprising that there aren't more accessories, but it would have been cool if he'd included his machine pistols as well. At last, my Team Cap is complete.

#103: Marvel Legends Civil War - Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man

Civil War brought the much anticipated arrival of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not surprisingly, Hasbro made a Marvel Legends figure of him. Annoyingly, he was only available in this three pack with battle damage variants of Captain America and Iron Man. I resolved that even though I wanted the Spidey figure, I wouldn't buy this unless I found it for half price or less. For whatever reason, Amazon had it marked down randomly early in November, so I went for it. Spidey is appropriately short here and has all the typical articulation we see on modern Spider-Man figures. Cap is a repaint of the same figure we've been getting since the Winter Soldier days, with the same unmasked head that looks nothing like Chris Evans. The weathering on the shield is very cool looking, though. Iron Man has removable repulsor blasts for his hands and feet, as well as an unmasked head that actually looks like Robert Downey Jr. At full price, this is a decent set if you don't already have the standard versions of Cap and Iron Man, but at half price, this was a pretty great deal.

#100: Marvel Legends Civil War - Giant Man

A Giant Man build a figure is a no brainer, and definitely one I was interested in completing. Sadly, there was only one figure in the entire series that I was interested in. Since I had a leg, I looked into buying the individual pieces to completing him, but it turned out to be cheaper to just buy one that was already complete. Giant Man is pretty big, but not a return to the glory days of the Sentinel and Galactus build a figures from years ago. He's about 10 or 11 inches tall, which probably makes him one of the tallest build a figures of recent years. I think the thing I like best about Giant Man is that they used translucent plastic for the lenses, so you can see the eyes behind them.

#99: Marvel Legends Civil War - Scarlet Witch

Hasbro waited until Scarlet Witch's second appearance to give her a Marvel Legends figure (hey, maybe Nebula will get one for Guardians of the Galaxy, vol 2!). Naturally, she's been pretty hard to come by. I only got the figure by adding it to my Amazon wishlist and obsessively checking to see if there were any in stock at a normal price. This is how I get most of my harder to find figures, unless I order a full case. While I do like her Age of Ultron outfit, her Civil War outfit does look more like a superhero costume while still also looking like everyday wear. Well, club wear maybe. I don't think the face looks particularly like Elizabeth Olsen, but I suspect this is one of those occasions where the paint is the issue. There are a couple effects pieces that can fit over her hands.

#86: Hot Toys Civil War - Captain America

Since Hot Toys figures are so expensive, I very rarely buy one. But it was inevitable that I'd get a Captain America since he is basically my favorite part of the MCU. Naturally it's a very good looking figure, Hot Toys rarely disappoints there. I really like what Cap's costume has evolved into in the movies. Basically it's his Winter Soldier STRIKE suit, but in colors that are based on his classic costume. The Age of Ultron version had the white part on the sleeves as well, but that became blue for Civil War. I think Cap is the only Civil War figure from Hot Toys who doesn't include a tiny Ant Man accessory. What he does include is a selection of different hands, two expressions for the masked head (the lower part of the face is held on by a magnet), an unmasked head, the broken mask of Crossbones, a display stand, and of course his mighty shield. The shield is made of metal (probably not vibranium, sadly. Definitely no adamantium as that doesn't exist in the MCU) and can be either worn on his arm or hung from his back.

#68: Marvel Legends Civil War - Black Panther

Black Panther made his cinematic debut in Civil War. He was badass, and the only new movie character to get a figure in his series, so of course he has been particularly hard to find. I had him sitting on my Amazon wishlist for a while before I was finally able to find one selling for a not unreasonable price. I paid more than I would have at retail, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. Fortunately, he makes for a nice figure. His costume is pretty detailed with texture, so he's an entirely new sculpt. There are two interchangeable heads, unmasked and masked. The unmasked head is a decent likeness although he looks more clean-shaven than I remember him being in the movie. The BAF piece is Giant Man's leg. I do want to complete that, but don't particularly want any of the other figures in this series, so I may need to turn to Ebay.
