#50: Marvel Collector Corps Pop! - Squirrel Girl
Now that she's in her own title, Squirrel Girl is finally coming into her own as a character and getting more widespread attention. Naturally, this means toys! There's a plush and a Minimate on the way, but Funko struck first with a Pop! version of this unbeatable hero. Squirrel Girl is exclusive to the Marvel Collector Corps service, so I had to subscribe. There is some other stuff in the box, but that's irrelevant here because none of it is Squirrel Girl. Due to licensing restrictions, Marvel and Star Wars Pops are bobbleheads. Her tail is heavy enough to make her lean backwards, but fortunately it goes low enough so that she can rest on it. When flat on her feet, it is slightly above the ground, so that may or may not be intentional. In a rare move, there is an accessory tiny Pop included, the squirrel Tippy Toe, who is sporting her trademark bow.

#113: Pop! Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy - Dancing Groot
Until Guardians of the Galaxy was released, nobody knew how popular Groot would be, which is presumably why it took such a long time for toys to be made of the dancing baby Groot from the end of the movie. Enterprising fans have been making their own versions for months now, but finally official product is being released. There are even a few options, ranging from fairly expensive yet screen accurate, to cheap and cute. The latter is the route I opted for. Because Funko apparently only has the license to make bobble heads for Marvel in this scale (conflicting interest of now defunct Mighty Muggs perhaps?), dancing Groot's head can shake. So although there are no animatronics in this toy, you can still make him dance by shaking him.

#48: Pop! Marvel Avengers - Nick Fury vinyl bobble-head
The Pop! vinyl toys have been around for a little while now, and have a pretty wide variety of licenses. I've already got the Batman and Batgirl figures in this style. This is probably the adorable version of a Samuel L Jackson toy we're likely to get (or does that honor go the the Mini Muggs version?), so I've had my eye on it for a while, but regular price was just too much for me to take the plunge. With the release of the Amazing Spider-Man toys, Target was clearancing out some of their Avengers toys so that an endcap could be repurposed. This got marked down half off, which was reasonable enough for me to finally buy. I think due to licensing issues, a lot of these figures are released as bobble-heads rather than figures. Nick Fury here has an odd slant to his head due to the spring in his head, which is why I would have preferred the regular figures. Still, it was cheap, and it looks cool. I can't complain too much.
