#64: Star Wars Legacy Collection Episode III Concept Art Anakin Skywalker

Back during the 30th Anniversary Collection, there were a few figures based on the concept art of Ralph McQuarrie, one of the artists responsible for much of how the classic trilogy looked. For the Legacy Collection, we get this concept version of Anakin based on artwork by Sang Jun Lee. Basically it's Anakin in black clothes with a cap, and no facial scars. It is certainly more Vader-esque than his darker Jedi outfit, and is also somewhat reminiscent of Luke's similarly all black outfit in Return of the Jedi. Although he comes with his blue lightsaber, the picture on the back of the box shows him holding the red Vader lightsaber. As a sort of alternate universe Anakin, I like this figure. Maybe it's what Vader would have looked like had he defeated Obi-Wan on Mustafar. If I only had one Anakin, I wouldn't want it to be this one, but it does stick out nicely from other versions of him.

  1. come to think of it, Anakin dressing never very jedi looking. He seems to be the only one who wore black robes... I cant imagine he dress like obiwan...

  2. The only time we ever saw Anakin in a regular Jedi outfit was at the very end of Phantom Menace, during the celebration scene. I guess he got tired of that pretty soon.
